ABOUT ME
As I write this I am a seventy-nine year old man with a varied background. I am a military veteran who later worked in state law enforcement as a traffic officer and Senior Special Investigator. In addition, over the course of my lifetime I worked in carpentry, sales and other endeavors. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, fishing and I love the sea. In addition to my writing I enjoy woodworking as you will see on one of the links. My oldest son and I have a well equipped shop where I spend much of my time. For my son it is a business -- for me it's a hobby. I am an avid reader and have a personal library with hundreds of books - all of which I have read-some a number of times.
As to my Christian background, I am a layman who has enjoyed deep study of the scriptures for many years. I have served as janitor, usher, bus pastor, Sunday School teacher at many levels, counselor, Sunday School Superintendent, financial officer, and Deacon. I have also done rest home, street and prison ministries. None of this makes me any more or less than any servant of our Lord. I only mention it here so that you know that I have been around long enough to have hopefully learned a few things from my many mistakes.
I do not consider myself to be a Bible scholar. I am a serious student of the Bible. I don't believe we should just read the Bible I consider it worthy of serious study. I have read several versions of the Bible verse by verse more times than I can count. I have never read it once that that the Holy Spirit did not guide me to something that I had missed previously. I hope the materials here will encourage some who have not yet invested themselves in serious study of scripture to do so.
